This is one of those evenings when I would very much liked to have lain at my length on the sofa eating salted caramel ice cream and watching a Scandi detective series. Instead I am boning up on how to answer questions on leadership styles and trying to remember the details of projects I worked on several years ago. I just googled something and found my name on a report that I have literally no memory of writing. This is because I didn't write it even though my name is in the box that says 'author'.
Last week my niece Neesh, the Unsurly Niece, had a job interview. I talked to her on the phone two or three times before her interview and gave her some advice and tips. Most of these were about how she should prepare and then prepare some more and not to wear too much make up. The job was for a year out placement and they were interviewing over two days, seeing people every half hour. They must have seen at least ten people but it was Neesh who got the job. It is surprising therefore that I have not followed my own advice.
One of the things about going to a job interview is it makes you appreciate how much you really don't mind your current job however annoying you might find it at times.
My interview tomorrow is just stage one in what will be a three stage process. I could fall at the first fence. Wish me luck.
