Today is apparently the most depressing day of the year.
Considering it was Monday and I had to get up too early it really wasn't such a bad day for me.
It was quite fwosty this morning, as they say in these parts, which meant at least we had some sunshine.
This evening I went to the Wigmore Hall with Traybake. As usual the audience comprised 16 people under the age of 23, four people apart from TB and me aged between 24 and 65 and 260 people aged 66 plus.
It was particularly crockish tonight. In the interval a number of people took a turn round the room with the help of their walking aids and/or wives. I can barely walk myself today as following my run yesterday I am in agony plus my "gout" was quite painful. TB offered to assist me up and down the aisle, suggesting that people in the audience would be impressed at how kind he was being to his mother. I declined quite sharply.
The concert was excellent.
In other news I got promoted today. This promotion does not include any additional pay or responsibilities or my own office or anything tangible but it does give me a better job title. In today's climate this is something to celebrate.
