Another year has passed here in the kingdom of Kerry.
The year has had its up and downs. My humans disappeared for several months at the beginning of the year leaving the youngster in charge of me. They returned in March and by May I had deigned to acknowledge them.
A quiet two months followed and then my world was shattered by a new arrival.
A baby in the family brings hope and a renewed interest in the future. This baby, Buster, is sadly extremely boisterous and ill-bred, unlike my own dear Gracie who is related by marriage to my dear friend Elizabeth Windsor which I probably haven’t mentioned before.
In November the youngster disappeared. My humans really are an unreliable lot.
In December, as the days shortened, things really did begin to look up. A wood burning stove has been installed solely for my use. I will be spending the rest of the year tucked underneath it. I wish you all a happy Christmas and a very prosperous new Year.
