Christmas Eve and we are patiently waiting for Father Ted to come on television as due to some mishap involving tidying wires Mr Kerry Sister appears to have disconnected British telelvision and we can only get RTE. The choice tonight was a programme featuring Phil Coulter or, on the other side, a programme featuring Daniel O'Donnell.
We are all missing the Surly Niece. She is on yet another travelling adventure and is in Cambodia for Christmas. There is a lack of baked goods in the house, well, not counting two christmas cakes and a plum torte but nothing made by the SN and fewer than usual presents under the tree. We talked to her on the phone today and she sounded a little bit homesick. (If you are listening to Raidió na Gaeltacht tomorrow afternoon you might hear a message being read out by Padraig O'Sé for the SN and her boyfriend. As it will all be in Irish I won't be able to understand a word of it.)
As is traditional here there is a candle burning in every window to guide the three wise men.
I hope where ever you all are you are having a lovely evening/morning and I wish you all a very happy Christmas.
