Question: What do Gerry Adams and Traybake have in common?
Answer: They have both bought jewellery made by Kerry Sister.
TB bought some little bracelets for his niece when we were in Dingle in the summer. Gerry, who was down there last weekend, also bought some of the bracelets as well as a pair of fuchsia earrings which Kerry Sister has been making and selling for years.
We were speculating who Gerry bought the jewellery for but it could have been for anyone. As children we always bought presents for everyone else if we were away from home for longer than two hours. Gerry may well be the same. You can just imagine him coming back to SF HQ and saying to Martin:
"Here's a wee thing I got you from down South".
In other news I didn't get the job - I came second and am assuming that the internal candidate, as predicted, got offered the post. I'm never taking advice from you lot again.

too bad
i gave my sister a pair of those earrings

Well, considering that the internal candidate was a shoo-in, I think that the County Antrim woman dun good.
Kerry Sister needs to sell a set of those fuchsia earrings to The Rev Paisley and she'll have a hat trick. No point in trying to flog them to Bertie Ahern - they're not bling enough for his tastes!

Yes I am still smarting a bit about the job.
Now if anyone is thinking of buying Christmas presents can I recommend some handmade jewellery? Very reasonable and endorsed by Presidents and senior Party leaders. Full details on request.

I disappointed Gerry didn't avail of the opportunity to declare "With our necklaces we shall free the six counties!"
