Testing One, Two, Three

This test is designed to indicate what your preferred interview preparation style is.  Answers must be marked as follows:

1. Totally inappropriate
2. Quite inappropriate
3. Not sure if appropriate or inappropriate
4. Appropriate
5. Most appropriate

You have been shortlsted for a job and are in the midst of a gruelling battery of interviews, questionnaires and tests.  It is Sunday and you have set aside the entire day to prepare.

Please mark the following behaviours using the scale above:

A.  You get up early, shower, go for a power walk and then spend the rest of the day researching, reading and doing practice tests.  You eat a nourishing dinner and go to bed early.

B.  You get up reasonably early, have a bath, listen to the Archers while doing some light housework and then spend three hours doing preparation.  In the evening you have supper with friends before having an early night.

C.  You wake up later than planned, have breakfast, do chores, surf the internet, read a magazine and then spend a couple of hours going through some interview stuff.  You go out in the evening and get a little bit drunk.

D.  You wake up, rigid with fear, at 4.00 a.m. and you do not go back to sleep.  You spend the day alternatively crying and eating Mars bars except for the times when you are doing both simultaneously.

E. You wake up and spend the day so far, prevaricating, talking on the phone and planning a trip to Tesco's before it closes.  You waste some additional time writing nonsense on the internet.  You feel irrationally angry with all the people who have advised you to "give it a go!".  You vow never to apply for another job again.

E is clearly a 1, but as that is exactly what I would do, then I shall say nothing.
