Ms Shauna Reid - Author

CoverI started to read blogs regularly about 3 or 4 years ago.  Initially because a friend of mine, who was living in Canberra at the time, started writing one.  She was linked to mainly Australian bloggers and through her I discovered a site called What's New, Pussycat.  At the time I started reading WNP Shauna who wrote it, had recently moved to Edinburgh and was recounting her impressions of northern winters, Scottish fried food and soul-destroying administrative jobs. She and her sister also spent every spare penny they had and all their annual leave on trips to Europe.

She seemed like a really typical young Australian doing the overseas thing except that she was also able to write about it in a very funny way.

During this time she met and married a Scottish guy and I thought "How typical, attractive funny Aussies coming over here and stealing the cream of our young British men".  I wasn't surprised though that someone as positive and as lucky as Shauna would get snapped up.

So when I discovered (about two years after everyone else) that all throughout this time she was also keeping a diet blog and had written about gaining and losing a truly phenomenal amount of weight I was gobsmacked.

About two years ago I predicted that Shauna would have a book published.  I couldn't imagine that someone who wrote as well as she did wouldn't be picked up by a publisher.

On January 1 her book "The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl" is out and you can pre-order copies from Amazon.  I read it at the weekend when I was supposed to be preparing for my interview.  It made me laugh and cry and when I added it to my sidebar I felt a kind of vicarious pride to be typing the name, Shauna Reid, in the the author link.

So congratulation to Ms Shauna Reid on becoming an ORTHA.  I look forward to the next one.

Comments

I found Shauna's blog very inspiring and helpful to my own weight loss project.

At low or temting times I find myself thinking, 'What would Shauna do?'

will add it to my list immediately. I *heart* Shauny
